At least 31 people have been killed, four being railway enployees, and a further 80 injured after two passenger trains collided in Iran’s Semnan province.

Helicopters and ambulances were sent to the scene, the Associated Press reported.

The governor of Semnan, Mohammad Reza Khabbaz, said the accident was being investigated to find out exactly what went wrong.
