DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their assault in the southwestern corridor of Aleppo after seizing the strategic Hikmah area near the 1070 AL-Hamdaniyah Housing Project.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the Rashiddeen 5 Suburb in southwest Aleppo, where they were confronted by large contingent of jihadist rebels from Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).

According to a military source in Aleppo, the Tiger Forces managed to the reach the Rashiddeen 5 Suburb after overrunning Jaysh Al-Fateh’s first-line of defense – clashes are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, in the Aqrab area, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah pounded the jihadist defenses at Souq Al-Jabes, killing and wounding a large number of militants amid a new advance along the northern axis.

More details to come….

This time though I think the Hikmah school area can be genuinely described as ‘strategic’. It and the neighboring 1070 apartments have been a b****y back-and-forth for many months. Now the SAA needs to hold the school as well as the militants did for all that time, or even better push the frontline far to the west so holding the school isn’t even an issue.
