BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has had another great day in the northeastern countryside of the Hama Governorate, as their troops continue their offensive to eliminate the Islamic State’s (ISIS) pocket along the Idlib axis.
Backed by Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate another large chunk of territory from the Islamic State forces this afternoon.
As a result of this advance, the Islamic State has found themselves confined to 250 square kilometers of territory and no axis to flee this once large pocket in northeast Hama.
According to a military source in Hama, the Syrian Army should be in control of this Islamic State pocket in the next 48 hours.
The source added that the Syrian Army has demanded that the Islamic State terrorists in this pocket surrender themselves immediately – no offer to transport them to another front has been made.
