BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:05 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has made several key advances in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus lately, capturing a number of sites near the key village of Hazrama.
On Tuesday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard was able to reestablish control over the Air Defense Battalion situated northeast of Hazrama, marking the first time in four years that they have been in position of this military installation.
Following the capture of the Air Defense Battalion base, the Syrian Arab Army continued to push towards Hazrama’s gates, seizing almost all of the farms that surround this village from its northern flank.
With the Syrian Arab Army now at the doorsteps of Hazrama, Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) will have to find a quick answer to beat back these swarming forces; if they fail, then these Islamist militants will be in for a long winter.
