BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 A.M.) – Local residents of the Syrian coastal city of Latakia gave their account of Monday night’s Israeli missile attack, footage filmed in Latakia on Tuesday reveals.
Ammar Altounji recalls “very big explosions” in the direction of “technical industries” and explosions “in the middle of the sea.”
“Israel has targeted us more than once in the past few days, and the international community must intervene to put an end to the Israeli incursions in the Syrian airspace,” Ammar concludes.
Another eyewitness Tarek Ahmed recounts with great detail the shocking moments of the raid:
“My neighbours and I were surprised by what was happening in Latakia for the first time. We saw a lot of rockets on the seaside and on the east side of the city. In the end, we hope that the Israeli aggression on Syria will end, and that we will live in peace.”
For Alexander Erigen the “attacks continue” but people “also continue to stay here.”
According to him the raid “had little impact on the daily life here” and then wished “patience and strength to the Syrian people,” and thanked “the Russian military, which defends this country for a long time already.”
On Monday night, Israel launched a missile attack on Syrian targets near Latakia.
