The Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” attempted to recapture the village of Doreen in northeast Latakia for 2nd time in 48 hours; however, they did not achieve the same success they did yesterday, as the National Defense Forces (NDF) repelled their attack on the northeastern axis near Salma.

Despite initial reports of the militants capturing Doreen, Al-Manar News filmed the NDF inside the village on Thursday, depicting complete control of both the hill and the surrounding area.

Al-Masdar News sources in northeastern Latakia were also able to confirm the complete control of Doreen, including the hill of Tal Doreen that is adjacent to the village and located east of the besieged town of Salma.

As many as 45 militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra were killed yesterday during the clashes at Doreen; meanwhile, on Thursday, the insurgents suffered a confirmed 19 casualties, including “Abu Ibrahim Al-Tounisi” (Tunisian), Ibrahim Waleed Al-Ghazi (Kuwaiti), “Abu Khaled Al-Malayzi” (Malaysian), “Abu Husni Al-Trablosi” (Libyan), “Abu Mohammad Al-Hafeezh” (Kuwaiti), and Mustafa Qassim Dayoub (Lebanese).

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.
