BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:10 P.M.) – The last Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist have been expelled from the northeastern Syria province of Al-Hasakah, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced today.
According to the SDF claim, the Islamic State was driven south of the Al-Hasakah provincial border after their troops seized the strategic Tal Safouk Crossing last week.
In addition to losing Tal Safouk, the Islamic State also lost the town of Dashishah, which was their primary stronghold in northeast Syria.
Dashishah became the Islamic State’s stronghold in the Al-Hasakah Governorate after their terrorists lost the key city of Al-Shaddadi to the US-backed forces.
With their forces reportedly expelled from northeast Syria, the Islamic State finds themselves clinging onto their small pockets in the vast Syrian Desert.
