Damascus, Syria (2:30 P.M.) – The largest rebel group in Syria, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, rejected the proposed ceasefire deal that would end all hostilities between non-jihadist factions inside the country, Al-Arabiya News reported on Sunday.
Citing a Syrian opposition source, Al-Arabiya claimed that Ahrar Al-Sham declared their “non-commitment” to the nationwide ceasefire deal that was proposed by the U.S. and Russia.
Ahrar Al-Sham’s spokesperson “Abu Yousif Al-Muhajar” stated on Sunday that this ceasefire is “unacceptable” because it allegedly strengthens the forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
Since they are not participating in this nationwide ceasefire agreement, Ahrar Al-Sham will be considered a legitimate target for the Russian and Syrian air forces.
