BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) – A large humanitarian convoy consisting of 40 supply trucks reached the Deir Ezzor Governorate, today, after making the arduous journey from the provincial capital of the Homs Governorate.

According to local sources in Deir Ezzor, the supply convoy traveled through the seasonal roads that were liberated by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in northeastern countryside of the Homs Governorate.

Due to the Islamic State’s (ISIL) presence along the eastern part of the Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor Highway, the humanitarian convoy was forced to take this alternative route to deliver the aid to the people of Deir Ezzor.

The video footage above was released by Syria’s Al-Ikhbariya this afternoon; it shows the convoy arriving in Deir Ezzor after the long trip through once ISIL-occupied areas.
