BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:15 P.M.) – A large Turkish military convoy entered the northwestern region of Syria this morning, pro-opposition activists reported.
According to the pro-opposition activists, the Turkish military entered western Idlib, today, through the Khirbat Al-Joz Crossing.
The pro-opposition activists added that the Turkish military convoy consisted of more than 20 vehicles and they were heading to the Jisr Al-Shughour countryside.
This Turkish military convoy is likely heading to the town of Ishtabraq, which is where they setup an observation point in western Idlib.
Turkey began setting up observation posts earlier this year and they currently have 12 official points in northern Syria.
The Turkish military has also established one illegal observation post in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate.
The Syrian government has complained about this observation post, which they believe is Turkey just expanding their territorial presence in Syria.
