BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 A.M.) – A large number of Russian military police were deployed to the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate, Wednesday, a Syrian Army source told Al-Masdar News last night.

According to the Syrian Army source, the Russian military police were deployed to the front-line towns of Khattab and Taybat Al-Imam near the Idlib Governorate.

The deployment of these Russian military police to the northern countryside of Hama coincides with the start of the sixth session of peace talks at the Kazakh capital of Astana.

A Syrian government source believes the deployment of these Russian troops near the Idlib Governorate border will eventually be be moved north to monitor the potential de-escalation zone.
