A large explosion occurred nearby the courthouse in the Turkish city of Izmir, local media report on Thursday.

​Several ambulances were sent to the scene of the explosion in Izmir; however, no civilians were reportedly killed.

​Unconfirmed reports say that at least two car bombs exploded near the courthouse in the third most populated city in Turkey.

According to some social media activists, gunfire was heard at the scene of crime after the bombs were detonated.

No group has admitted responsibility for this terrorist attack.
