Two interior ministry colonels were among nine people arrested at a beach house in the coastal area of Sabah Al Ahmad in Kuwait on charges of drunkenness and lewd behaviour
Three Kuwaiti women and an expatriate woman were also arrested alongside the two law enforcement officers, the Ministry of Interior said in a press statement carried by Kuwait News Agency (Kuna).
The arrests took place following complaints received by the police from residents of the Sabah Al Ahmad beach area regarding the arrestees’ boisterous and disturbing behaviour, the official news agency reported.
The statement added that Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Shaikh Mohammad Al Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah ordered that the two law enforcement officers “be subjected to punitive and legal measures for their unacceptable conduct.”
“The Ministry of Interior ministry will not allow any of its personnel to act outside the boundaries of the law”, the statement said, in reference to the arrest of the two officers.
