DAMASCUS, SYRIA (0:40 P.M.) – Following the liberation of six villages on two flanks yesterday, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) proceeded to capture a number of rural sites on Wednesday morning.

During clashes southwest of Raqqa, Kurdish forward units were able to wrestle control over the village of Hunaydi and established fire control over a section of the M6-highway, a jihadist supply road which runs vertically through ISIS’ territory in Syria.

Furthermore, fierce skirmishes erupted at the village of At-Tadiyah moments ago amid a pincer offensive cutting through ISIS turf on the southern bank of the Euphrates River.

On the eastern axis, the SDF recaptured the village of Raqqat as Samra overnight, thus advancing within two kilometers of Raqqa city’s eastern neighborhoods.

The SDF’s current view of Raqqa city:

In addition, ISIS withdrew from the village of Al-Assadiah. Effectively, the SDF has now besieged the highly fortified Division 17, a military base located directly north of the provincial capital.

Meanwhile, some 4,000 ISIS fighters in Raqqa city are waiting to fight the Kurds in an attritional battle for the Islamic State capital itself.

An interactive map of the aforementioned advances can be found here.

The US proxies of the so called SDF are allies with ISIS against the Syrian government forces. They will pretend to fight them, in fact they would only target civilians to ethnically cleanse the Arab city from its native Arab inhabitants and re-populate it with Kurdish settlers from Turkey. This is a repeat of the terror campaign by the Zionist Stern Gang and the Irgum against the Native Palestinian population in Palestine leading to the forced deportation of more than 4 million native Palestinians from their homes and lands and the invasion of Palestine by hundreds of thousands of Zionist… Read more »

YPG doesn’t call for a separate state at all. Actually, Assad even didn’t dismissed the possibility of Syria becoming a federal state, he just pointed that it’d necessitate a modification of constitution. You should also note that Putin and EU back the idea. YPG had NO US support before the Manbij operation. Kurds could rely for 2 years on AdlA+Lüftwaffe acting as Kurdish-AF, if things end getting sour, remember how Rafales and Tornados forced into Libyan air defenses while Gaddafi had last generation of Russian radars and upgraded SAMs that even allow to shoot down F-22 or B-2. There won’t… Read more »

In Iraq they said the same thing at first. But it was only to tone down public outrage. In reality the aim is clearly to link the occupied Northern Iraqi lands with those on Syria and create a US puppet Kurdistan state.

They deserve every inch of Syria that they can get. They saved the people of the north from ISIS, the government was nowhere to be found, they fled long ago. The SAA have no right to it.

It is the Kurds who have no right there. The Kurds are not fighting ISIS for your information. They are fighting and murdering civilians for ethnic purposes. ISIS like these so called SDF or YPG are a US creation and proxy and their aim is to destroy the Syrian state in order to set their military bases there and pass their pipeline to the Mediterranean. ISIS are their allies and front line terror squads in this invasion of sovereign Syrian land. Any attempt to steal Syrian land will see Russia and the Syrian Army unleash their wrought on these usurpers… Read more »

They saved no one. They simply terrorized the native Arab civilians and forced them out of their homes and lands to bring Kurdish refugees from Turkey and Iraq in their place. They are allies to and on the same as ISIS. Only the Syrian government is fighting ISIS together with its allies.

Deo Cass : you’re REALLY talking bullshit! BTW, SDF ain’t an US proxy : SDF concept is really propped by the US simply to cut the grass under the Turkish feet by adding Arab tribes to YPG. Thus, USA just began a few days ago to give’em heavy weapons. All the serious gear until now came from Germany, France (Milan ATGM, the totally crazy Nexter 20mm canon where a single round sends an Humvee airborne, G36 rifles, etc) and even Canada for many armoured vehicles but they also received help from both Russia and Syrian govt! There are many cases… Read more »

Absolutely wrong! From when do leftists sleep with US imperialists? This very same nonsense was being said by the Kurds in Iraq but look now. They now say they will get independence whether the Iraqi government wants it or not. They will do the same in Syria. Today they declared it officially that their main objective is preventing the Syrian Army from approaching Raqqa and linking to its enclaves to the East of the Euphrates river to prevent Iran?? from gaining a stronghold in Syria.

Absolutely right, Kit, thus, SDF doesn’t want the division of Syria, at the difference of Bazrani’s KRG, thus, situation is pretty different too.

The Kurds belong to Turkish occupied Eastern Anatolia in Turkey not Syria and it is there that that they should create their state, where thy belong, not on Syrian sacred land.
