The Kurdish YPG in a rare north Aleppo countryside offensive captured the ISIS-held al-Wahshiyah village.

Al-Wahshiya was previously captured by ISIS on June 9, 2015.

ISIS have had their territorial presence in northern Aleppo severely under threat since Turkey’s intervention under the banner of their Euphrates Shield operation which has also targeted the YPG.

The capture of al-Washiyah by the YPG demonstrates the three-way battle occurring in nothern Aleppo countryside between ISIS, the YPG and Turkey-led forces.

SDF should have done the strategy I suggested when they surrounded Manbij : just surround the city then go east full throttle, surround al-Bab without trying to take it too then make the junction with Efrin’s Rojava. It”s sad because in case of what happened then, both Manbij and al-Bab daeshbag’s strongholds could have been tooled against FSal-Qaeda+Muslim Brotherhood turkish army by opening them a north access corridor thus, instead of losing manpower and time, it would have made the both shithadists clans take hits fighting each others, thus serving Rojava’s cause… Best victories are always the battles you don’t… Read more »
