BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) – The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) carried out a powerful attack against a group of Turkish-backed rebels in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo this week.
Led by members of their sleeper cell, the YPG attacked the headquarters of the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters using a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) in the Jandaris District of Afrin.
The VBIED attack would prove successful, as the YPG managed to kill at least two members of the Free Syrian Army, while wounding couple others that were inside the HQ.
No pictures or videos have been released yet by the YPG; however, they often release footage a few days after the attack.
This latest attack by the YPG comes just days after the Free Syrian Army and Jaysh Al-Islam clashed inside the Afrin region.
The rebel infighting resulted in the death of a couple members of the Free Syrian Army in Afrin city.
