BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:15 A.M.) – The executive chair of Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Ilham Ahmad claimed that the opposition-controlled cities of Raqqa and Hasakah will not be ‘handed over’ to the government, during a video interview with RT from the Syrian city of Qamishli on Sunday.

Answering a question regarding the possibility of such move, she said: “It is not the matter of discussion” with the government officials.

“We believe that decentralised Syria is the right decision in order to save the country from the aftermath of the crisis and this tragedy. A centrally-controlled system was the source of this crisis,” added Ilham Ahmad.

Ahmad represents the SDC, which is the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Kurdish-led multi-ethnic alliance.

She led the delegation of Democratic Forces during talks which the SDC was holding with Syrian government officials in Damascus last week.

SOT, Ilham Ahmad, executive chair of Syria Democratic Council (Arabic): “I cannot say we reached an agreement on these issues. Everyone stick to general issues. It will be discussed later. It may be discussed at the bilateral commission. The majority of them [issues] are constitution articles connected with power, administrative system, the rights of different nationalities in Syria, and Kurds’ rights as well, rights of other ethnicities. On this basis we discussed common issues. The commission is to list all the details and discuss all the issues, which were considered at this meeting.”

You’re mistaking SDF with Iranian-created ISIS or Qatar/Turkey backed al-Nusra+FSA. Note that Iran also backs Hamas which itself backs al-Nusra and ISIS/Sinai-Province. With Syrian govt. allying with SDF/SDC under Russian impulsion, the defeat is on the side of Iran : Syria won’t be swallowed as a puppet-state just like Lebanon. Why d’you think Israelis are allowed to hammer IRGC and Hezbo by Russians? At the same time, Yankees allowed SDC to ally with Syrian govt. SDF olds the third of Syria, especially oil/gas rich areas and has US help with USAF patrolling… What defeat? Both need each other to oust… Read more »

Perhaps she needs to speak with the Christians in that region who have been the victims of YPG. Like the fundamentalist Islamists, its their way or the highway. You must speak Kurdish, be indoctrinated into APPO propaganda, and wave the Kurdish flag. Local by and large reject them for reasons. This is the Kurdish Mafia and Assad is a secular leader.

Why do you even bother? Everybody knows exactly what you are. You would do better commenting on some website in Israel. Lies are all you are capable of delivering.

The “Prodigal Son” is coming home. The Zionists mostly attack the SAA and Russia is not doing anything because it does not want war with a crazy warmonger entity (and any serious Russian to stop this could lead to war). “Over 50 tribes meet in Aleppo to reject US, Turkish, French presence in Syria” ” Both need each other to oust the Turk and his proxies” The SAA totally need the SDA that managed to defeat ONE Daesh pocket with 1000 terrorists in the sam time it took the SAA to defeat 4 Daesh pockets with 6200 terrorists) (and the… Read more »

The Kurds are starting to sound desperate, maybe the recent Chinese statement about involving itself in the upcoming Idlib campaign has a lot to do with it. Just a few months ago the Kurds were on track to achieving their ultimate goal of limited self autonomy, with only a quick handshake needed to seal the deal, but they held off trying to go for gold and demanded full self autonomy, which has now turned out to be a big mistake. Deals are only done when you have something to offer, and the Kurds are fast running out of anything to… Read more »

“their ultimate goal of limited self autonomy” ??? LOL. The goal is a free democratic Syria, run by the Syrian people. Your desperate sectarian racism has made you ridiculous.

Syria’s parliamentary elections occur every four years, with the last in 2016, Presidential elections are held every seven years, with the last in 2014. In the last parliamentary election held in 2016 the results didn’t follow sectarian lines at all, the people predominantly voted for the individual candidate and their stated policies, not their religious faiths, the results are on the net so you can check yourself. There were a lot of women elected in 2016 and most of them were of the Sunni faith, but most of the politicians in Australia that get elected are of the Christian faith… Read more »

SDC’s are just USA-ISrael spokemen. Kurds (USA-puppets) have only two ways: First, to obey Syria government and to get rid of USA weapons. Second, to face death and destruction under Syria-Russia forces.

The mass murderer, the dictator, is finished. His appalling family regime is over. Syria will be decentralised, and will finally prosper, led by the Kurds – the most worthy people the middle east has ever produced.

Why don’t you first defeat Daesh north of Abu Kamal (and don’t take as long as you did to defeat 1000 Daesh terrorists on the border with Iraq while the SAA defeated 4 Daesh pockets with 6200 terrorists at the same time+ liberate other ares from terrorists (the entire south of Syria)).
