Aleppo, Syria (3:25 P.M.) – A Kurdish official from the Democratic Union Party (PYD) told Al-Mayadeen News Agency on Monday that they have refused the U.S.’ demands to withdraw east of the Euphrates River towards the Al-Raqqa Governorate.
The U.S. is attempting to mediate between Turkey and the Kurdish forces; however, they have repeatedly demanded the latter adhere to Ankara’s guidelines regarding the YPG’s presence in the Aleppo Governorate.
Earlier today, local activists reported that the Turkish Army penetrated almost 20km deep into the Kobane countryside, causing several Kurdish civilians to protest their illegal presence near this strategic border-city.
