The Kurdish “Peshmerga” forces, backed by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and Anti-ISIS Coalition, managed to liberate a dozen villages from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the eastern countryside of the Mosul District on Monday.

According to Rudaw News, the Kurdish forces liberated 12 villages from the Islamic State terrorists, including Hasoudiyah, Kanhashay Boshik, and Kanhasay Gawra.

As a result of this major advance on Monday, the Kurdish forces have finally reached the imperative Gweir Highway that feeds into the provincial capital of the Nineveh Governorate.

It should be over in 2 months, but they’re moving very, very slowly despite outnumbering ISIS like 20 to 1. They need to deal with the southern bubble before heading north to Mosul. I can’t wait for the border to be closed though, that will be interesting, seeing if the shia militias will attack towards Deir Ezzor and link up with Palmyra.
