BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 A.M.) – The Kurdish-led “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) liberated the strategic town of Meyzla in east Al-Raqqa on Saturday, the ARA News Agency reported yesterday.
According to the report from ARA News, a specialized team of SDF sappers have begun to dismantle explosives and landmines inside the town. The SDF specialised teams also started to dismantle ISIS explosives and landmines in the town.
“Our forces are now in control of the Meyzla town, where ISIS was using civilians as human shields. The town is completely liberated now,” SDF officer Mahmoud Khalaf, told ARA News.
The SDF-led “Operation Euphrates Wrath” has managed to liberate a great deal of territory from the Islamic State militants, forcing the latter to consolidate their positions near the provincial capital of Al-Raqqa.
