DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:40 A.M.) – New pictures reveal that ISIS fighters are increasingly contesting every inch in rural Raqqa in a bid to avoid the upcoming Kurdish assault on the provincial capital of Raqqa which the Euphrates Wrath offensive is bringing ever closer.
Despite persistent Islamic State resistance, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to take three villages with US air support, namely Nebiye, Al-Jalaa and Maisalun. The advance was secured on Wednesday and subsequently fortified today.
Meanwhile, Amaq Agency published a handful of pictures showing their versions of events, suggesting ISIS would put up quite a battle for its capital.
After clearing an ISIS pocket at the Tabqa Dam yesterday, the SDF and Manbij Military Council (MMC) finally liberated the entire region and will now be able to push on Raqqa from its western flank.
