Al-Hasakah, Syria (3:30 A.M.) – The Kurdish police (Asayish) have launched a full-scale assault on the government-controlled areas of Hasakah City tonight, despite the large presence of civilians still living in these districts.
According to a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) source at the Kawkab Military Base, the Asayish have flanked the city at the Al-Nashwa and Al-Guweiran districts; however, they have made minimal gains, thanks in large-part to the Syrian Air Force’s interference.
The source added that clashes erupted around midnight tonight, as the Asayish made another attempt to capture the Al-Beiruti Bridge, Al-Zahra Neighborhood, 60th Street, Hasakah Villas, Al-Amal School, east Al-Nashwa.
In response to the continued aggression by the Asayish, the Syrian Air force has transferred another 6 fighter jets to the Al-Qamishli Airport.
Al-Hasakah is an ethnically and religiously diverse city in northeastern Syria that has been engulfed in nationalist tension, as pro-Ba’athist and pro-Kurdistan fighters clash sporadically.
