BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 P.M.) – The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces resumed their wide-scale advance towards the provincial capital of Al-Raqqa on Sunday, liberating another village located southeast of the Islamic State’s (ISIS) stronghold.
The Syrian Democratic Forces liberated the village of Abu Esil, which is located 48km southeast of Raqqa City’s gates, ANF News reported on Sunday.
As a result of today’s gains, the Syrian Democratic Forces are now pushing towards Raqqa City from several axes, while their allies from the U.S. Coalition continue to bombard the Islamic State terrorists across the province.
In addition to their advance in Al-Raqqa, the Syrian Democratic Forces are pushing south towards Deir Ezzor City, where the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is currently besieged by the Islamic State terrorists.
