US secretary of state, John Kerry, said his country won’t support sending ground forces to the war-torn Syria.
Kerry’s comment was made during a meeting with his Turkish, Qatari and Saudi counterparts on the sidelines of Munich Security meeting.
“The outcomes of your military intervention in Syria are not yet clear. This has considerably led to further support to Syria’s Assad by his allies. The United States cannot provide a comprehensive and effective support on this matter, and you shouldn’t expect to”, he told the attendees.
During the meeting, Turkish foreign minister complained against a series of meetings recently held between US and Kurdish officials inside Kurds-majority regions in Turkey.
“Kurds and other ethnicities are an integral part of the field situation on the ground who cannot be marginalized or disregarded, rather treated with reasonably”, Kerry replied.
