BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 P.M.) – The commander of the Jordanian Army’s Northern Region, Brigadier Khaled Al-Masa’id was interviewed by the Al-Rai News Agency on Saturday regarding the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) recent capture of the Nassib Crossing.
The Jordanian military commander welcomed the return of the Syrian Army to the Nassib Crossing, calling this an important step to help both Jordan and Syria economically and politically.
The Syrian Arab Army was able to retake the Nassib Crossing this past weekend after a short military operation against the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) Southern Front Brigades in southern Daraa.
Previously, the Nassib Crossing had been under the control of the Free Syrian Army, following their large-scale offensive in March 2015.
With the Nassib Crossing under their control, the Syrian government will now move to repair the Damascus-Amman Highway and promote trade and commerce between the two Levantine nations.
