The Kingdom of Jordan has allegedly released an updated list of state designated terrorist organizations that include several rebel groups from Syria.
For several years now, the Kingdom of Jordan has been a safe-haven for Islamist rebel groups like Jabhat al-Nusra (Syrian al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
These Islamist rebel groups have trained and operated inside the Jordanian cities of Mafraq and ‘Irbid before crossing the Syrian border to combat the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies.
Allegedly, this document was “leaked” by members of the Free Syrian Army; however, the Jordanian Government has not commented on this topic.
According to the list, the following Syrian rebel groups are now designated as “terrorists” by the Kingdom of Jordan:
- Jabhat al-Nusra
- Harakat Ahrar al-Sham
- Liwaa al-Tawheed
- Harakat Nouriddeen al-Zinki
- Liwaa al-Haqq
- Jund al-Aqsa
- Fajr al-Islam
- Liwaa Jaysh al-Mohammad
- Jaysh al-Mujahiddeen
