BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 A.M.) – A joint conference regarding the upcoming Bahrain workshop was held between the Syrian government and several Palestinian political factions, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC), this past week.
According to a source in Damascus, the attendees agreed to jointly reject U.S. President Donald Trump’s Palestinian-Israeli peace plan that was dubbed the ‘Deal of the Century.”
The conference was reportedly held in the Yarmouk Camp District of Damascus, which was fully liberated from the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) during last summer’s Syrian Arab Army (SAA) offensive.
The PFLP-GC is considered one of Syria’s closest Palestinian allies; they previously broke away from the PFLP following a tiff between the latter’s founder and leader George Habash and the former’s commander Ahmad Jibreel.
While Syria also maintains relations with the PFLP, which is based in Palestine, the PFLP-GC is specifically headquartered in Damascus.
