BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The “Rouse the Believers” jihadist group posted several photos to their social media channels this week that showed them targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the Al-Ghaab Plain region of northwest Hama and southwest Idib.
In a series of photos, the jihadist coalition shows their militants targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses with Grad rockets at the town of Naorat Shatha.
This move by the jihadist coalition comes at a time when the Syrian Arab Army continues to strengthen their forces around the front-lines in the Al-Ghaab Plain region.
In particular, Syrian Army reinforcements have been pouring into this region of northwestern Syria as they prepare to kickoff a new operation that will target the jihadists between the Idlib, Hama, and Latakia governorates.
At the same time, jihadist factions like Rouse the Believers and the Hurras Al-Deen group have already refused a ceasefire in the region, while also rejecting the newly formed Turkish-backed National Army.
Due to the long-term threat they pose, the jihadist groups will witness a surge in attacks by the Syrian Arab Army in the coming weeks, as both the latter and Russian Armed Forces seek to eliminate their presence inside the country.
