Hama, Syria (12:04 A.M.) – Jihadists from the Al-Qaeda affiliated Jund Al-Aqsa, Jaish Al-Nasr, Jaish Al-Iz have begun intense shelling of Syrian Army checkpoints in the vicinity of the towns of al-Massasneh , Albuwydah, and Markebeh that are located in the northern countryside of Hama.
This heavy shelling comes amidst reports of a large offensive being prepared by Jund Al-Aqsa. Meanwhile, the other two factions will assist Jund Al-Aqsa by providing the necessary fire support with artillery and TOW-missile targeting.
The northern Hama front is one of the most well-defended fronts in Syria with neither side being able to make a significant advance for much over a year. The Syrian Army had successfully repelled all offensives by Jund Al-Aqsa in the troubled region for many months.
