The jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab, led by Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), launched a new offensive in Aleppo City this morning that targeted the Police Headquarters (Mouror Building) and Souq Al-Hal area, which is currently under the control of the Syrian Armed Forces.
A military source told Al-Masdar News on Monday morning that the Fatah Halab jihadists began their assault at dawn by detonating a tunnel bomb near the Aqabeh axis.
Souq Al-Hal and the Police Headquarters are both located in the Old Aleppo District; this area is located between the government and jihadist rebels.
This latest offensive by Fatah Halab comes just 24 hours after their failed assault at the Aleppo Citadel, which also ended in complete disaster for the aforementioned jihadist group.
So far, no advances have been made by the jihadist rebels; however, heavy clashes are ongoing at the Bab Antakya Neighborhood, which is located between the Al-Kalaseh district and the Municipal Palace.
