Short after Jaish Al-Fateh militants advanced in the Ramoussah Artillery Base, jihadist militants from Fateh Halab coalition launched a massive attack on the Ramoussah neighborhood.
This development cut the supply line to the 1.5 million inhabitants of west Aleppo. However, it does not lift the siege off the rebel-held east Aleppo because any makeshift supply route the rebels would create through Ramoussah would be under the fire control of the Syrian Army.
In an ironic turn of events, both the Syrian Army and the jihadists succeeded in sieging each other. Nevertheless, Syrian Army reinforcements are pouring as we speak in preparation for a massive counter-attack to lift the siege off west Aleppo. The upcoming days will be critical in showing what form the battle of Aleppo will take.
