BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:45 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels carried out a powerful raid on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in southern Idlib this week.
Led by their special forces, the jihadist rebels raided the Syrian Arab Army’s positions south of Atshan on Thursday.
As a result of this raid, several Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed and seven others were captured by the jihadist rebels.
The jihadist rebels claimed that 23 Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed; however, a source from the military said these numbers were exaggerated.
The jihadist rebels attempted to carry out two of these attacks on Thursday, with only one of them being successful.
The other attack was launched by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham on the town of Qasabiyah; this was repelled by the Syrian Arab Army after the jihadists lost several combatants.
