HAMA, SYRIA (6:25 A.M.) The jihadist rebels continued their large-scale offensive in the northern Hama countryside on Wednesday night, targeting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) held town of Zughbah.

Led by Jund Al-Aqsa (Al-Qaeda franchise) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the jihadist rebels stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses at the northern axis of Zughbah; this resulted in a fierce battle that is still ongoing this morning.

Elsewhere in northern Hama, the Syrian Armed Forces launched a new assault at Al-Shaatha, marking their first attempt to recapture this village since losing it in September.

According to a Syrian Arab Army source in northern Hama, the Syrian Armed Forces have entered the village; however, they do not have full-control over it, despite claims of its capture by pro-government activists.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
