BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched, Monday, an offensive to capture the key village of Ma’an in the northern Hama countryside.
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham began the assault on Monday morning by storming three different axes in northern Hama countryside, striking the territory around the villages of Ma’an, Al-Kabariyah, and Kawkab.
However, due to heavy airstrikes from the Syrian and Russian air forces, the jihadist rebels were unable to make any headway around Ma’an.
According to military source in Hama, the jihadist rebels suffered heavy casualties and the loss of several vehicles during their failed offensive; this required them to withdraw their assault by Monday evening.
