The jihadist rebels of the Fatah Halab operation room launched a massive counter-offensive on Saturday to recapture all of the territory they lost to the Syrian Armed Forces over the last 72 hours.
However, not only was the northern Aleppo offensive at the Al-Mallaah Farms a failure, but it also cost the jihadist rebels several combatants and their heavy weaponry.
The Tiger Forces destroyed 2 VBIEDs (Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device) and 5 enemy tanks near the Al-Castillo Highway on Saturday.
A source from the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” told Al-Masdar News on Saturday night that the jihadist rebels did not gain any territory, despite several claims made over social media.
In addition, the source stated that the jihadist rebels lost over 40 fighters while trying to overrun the defenses of the Syrian Armed Forces near Al-Mallaah Farms.
Among the many casualties for the jihadist rebels were several field commanders that included the Faylaq Al-Sham leader, Zuheir Harba.
The military commander of the Islamic Safwah Movement, ‘Abdel-Rahman Mansour, was also reportedly killed alongside 4 of his combatants from the Homs Governorate town of Al-Qusayr.
