BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels have responded to the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) military buildup in southeast Idlib with a powerful assault on the government posts near the designated demilitarized zone.

Led by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels repeatedly struck the Syrian Army’s defenses in southeast Idlib with a plethora of missiles and artillery shells.

According to a military source in nearby Hama, a number of soldiers were wounded as a result of this attack by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies in southeast Idlib.

The source added that the jihadist rebels are currently attacking a number of government posts near the Idlib buffer zone.

This latest attack by the jihadist rebels comes just 24 hours after the Syrian military began assembling their troops near the Abu Dhuhour Military Airport.

The Abu Dhuhour front has long been a problem for the Syrian Army as the jihadist rebels regularly target the government areas.

Furthermore, the Syrian Arab Army wants to clear the area around the Abu Dhuhour Airport in order to secure the installation for future use.
