BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels have remained inside the Idlib buffer zone, despite repeated warnings from the Turkish and Russian forces in the area, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News tonight.

According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reported that the jihadist rebels from Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Hurras Al-Deen group have remained in the western part of the Idlib buffer zone near the Latakia provincial border.

The source said that the jihadist rebels are still launching attacks on the Syrian Arab Army’s positions from their posts inside this 15-20km deep buffer zone.

Most recently, the jihadist rebels have attacked the Syrian Arab Army’s positions inside the Latakia Governorate from the key town of Kabbani, which is situated just west of the Al-Ghaab Plain.

The Syrian military has since responded by firing a barrage of missiles towards Kabbani and the Jisr Al-Shughour District.

The Jisr Al-Shughour District is currently inside the Idlib buffer zone, despite the large presence of jihadist rebels.
