The jihadist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham agreed on Thursday to release the 19 civilians they kidnapped from Zarah after seizing the village three weeks ago.
According to a local source, the jihadist rebels agreed to release the prisoners from Zarah after the Syrian Red Crescent Society intervened on behalf of the Syrian government.
These 19 civilians were finally released to the Syrian Red Crescent on Thursday night, despite several attempts by the jihadist rebels to get the Syrian government to free their fighters.
Of the 19 civilians that were released, 5 of them were children under the age of 10 and 14 others were women.
