BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:40 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a counter-assault in the southern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate, today, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the town of Al-Rashidiyah.

Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham began the assault by storming the Syrian Army’s positions at the western perimeter of Al-Rashidiyah; this would result in a fierce battle with the latter.

Finally, after several hours of fighting, the jihadist group managed to break-through the Syrian Army’s front-lines and retake Al-Rashidiyah.

As a result of Friday’s advance by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the southern Aleppo town Al-Rashidiyah has exchanged hands at least four times in the last two weeks.

Such things cannot be allowed to happen with Syria and Russia having full air dominance. The Syrian army and allies need to retake the town and not just stop there. They need to push further and liberate as many areas as possible around the town to create a buffer zone. But it has to be stressed, that unless the Syrian government forces and allies liberate HTS’s terrorist safe heavens and incubators especially Idleb, things will only get worse. As long as there are illegal foreign colonial imperialist invasion forces in Syria which want to bring down the legitimate Syrian government… Read more »
