BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched an overnight attack on the provincial capital of Aleppo, a military source told Al-Masdar News from the city this morning.

According to the source, the jihadist rebels of Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki fired several artillery shells towards the western neighborhoods of Aleppo city, causing several explosions that could be heard throughout the provincial capital.

The source said that the jihadist rebels specifically targeted the Mokambo and Al-Andalus districts, along Nile Street in western Aleppo.

He would add that several civilians were wounded during the attack, including a number of children.

In response to the jihadist attack, the Syrian Arab Army launched several missiles towards the Rashideen 4 area in a bid to deter the militants from attacking the provincial capital again.

This latest attack by the jihadist rebels is the second major assault on western Aleppo in the last 24 hours.
