BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:55 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a new offensive in Dara’a City this week, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) last positions inside the Al-Manishiyah District.

Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham began their offensive by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s positions in the northern sector of Al-Manishiyah; this resulted in a fierce battle on Tuesday morning.

Despite the intensity of the attack launched by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels were unable to break-through the Syrian Arab Army’s main line of defense around the Al-Arshadiyah Checkpoint.

According to a military source from the 5th Armored Division in Izra’a, the Syrian Arab Army killed more than 15 jihadists so far, while also destroying three vehicles fitted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns.

While the Syrian Arab Army was busy confronting the jihadist rebels in Al-Manishiyah, the Russian Air Force provided necessary ai assistance by bombing Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions and supply lines from the nearby Dara’a Al-Balad District.

A military source said the Russian Air Force has already launched over 20 airstrikes over Dara’a Al-Balad today, causing significant damage to the jihadist fortifications in the district.
