Homs, Syria (10:15 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels, led by Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, launched a massive offensive in the northern Homs countryside on Monday night, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions near the small town of Al-Zara.

Jabhat Al-Nusra’s media wing reported that this latest offensive is meant to lift the large-scale siege on the northern Homs countryside.

So far, the jihadist rebels have managed to capture the Al-Madajin Checkpoint that is situated just north of Al-Zara after a short battle with the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF).

According to preliminary reports from the northern Homs front, the jihadist rebels are attempting to encircle the strategic Al-Zara Thermal Plant, which was under siege by the same forces two months ago.

Minutes ago, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) began conducting airstrikes over the Al-Rastan Plains in response to the attempted advance by the jihadist rebels.

You’d be surprised as to what a batallion sized force can do, if trained, armed, and resolved.

This could lead to serious issues for her : she already wasn’t to be indicted for security breach, arming Daesh and/or Qaeda affiliates is nothing else than treason…

Seams that SyAAF rebuilding is going well : 6 month ago, they were nearly unable to respond to calls for air-support.

These power plants are strategic as many are out of action even though recovered due to sanctions stopping repair parts. They are trying to undermine what survives of the Syrian economy no doubt under instruction from C-A. This area needs to be secured properly.
Securing Al Shaer back and running it and protecting it seem important to me.

Words of reason: The massive militant offensive on Aleppo includes 20,000 militants and Torkish soldiers dressed in militant gear. It coincides with AUGUST 1; while Hims militants are trying to storm Zara plant and cut electricity to most of W. Aleppo. This would make night defence very difficult; especially as militants are waiting for this, ready with night vision. This is all a concerted effort and no militant could have planned it nor facilitated it. This is PLAN B unfolding. IS has thrown a massive offensive at DZ in order to tie up some of the AF assets.
