BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:55 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels have launched another large counter-offensive in the southern countryside of Idlib this weekend, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions near the Hama axis.

Led by the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels began their attack by storming the two towns of Tal Khaznah and Mushayrifah Al-Shmaliyah.

The jihadist rebels would manage to capture Tal Khaznah and Mushayrifah Al-Shmaliyah after a short battle with the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces on Saturday.

However, shortly after capturing these towns, the Russian Aerospace Forces began their heavy bombardment of these towns, inflicting heavy damage on the jihadist defenses after launching more than 30 airstrikes in a matter of four hours.

According to a military source in Hama, the Syrian Arab Army is preparing to launch their counter-attack to retake the towns they lost, adding that they should be recaptured by dawn.
