BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:55 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies are struggling to maintain control of the large swath of territory they seized two weeks ago from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern countryside of Hama.
On Monday, things did not get much better for the jihadist rebels, as the Syrian Arab Army and their allies seized a number of sites in the Northern Hama Plain, including the town of Ma’ardes and its surrounding checkpoints.
Following the capture of Ma’ardes, the Syrian Arab Army advanced to the Ma’ardes Bridge and nearby town of Al-Iskenderiyah, where they were engaged in a short battle with the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Sham.
Not long after launching the attack, the Syrian Arab Army imposed full control over Al-Iskenderiyah and Ma’ardes Bridge, forcing the jihadist rebels to retreat towards the towns of Souran and Taybat Al-Imam.
