BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:50 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces (NDF), launched a powerful assault at the Halfaya axis in northern Hama today, striking the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham southwest of the aforementioned town.
Led by their 5th Legion, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies attempted to capture the small village of Al-Tarabi’ah near Halfaya’s southwestern axis; this led to a series of intense clashes today.
However, despite the intensity of their assault, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies were unable to capture Al-Tarabi’ah after more than three hours of nonstop fighting with the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants.
A military source in northern Hama told Al-Masdar on Thursday that the Syrian Army and their allies were forced to withdraw from Al-Tarabi’ah after suffering heavy casualties at the hands of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
The Russian and Syrian air forces are now launching airstrikes over this small village in order to weaken the jihadist resolve and pave the way for another army attack.
