BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels carried out a series of mass arrests in northeast Idlib, today, citing several reasons for apprehending civilians.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Hurras Al-Deen group arrested at least 20 civilians in the Idlib Governorate city of Saraqib near the Aleppo provincial border.
The SOHR report said that the two jihadist groups carried out these arrests for a number of reasons.
Both of these aforementioned jihadist groups have arrested residents of the Idlib province for several reasons in the past, including alleged ties to the Syrian government.
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has arrested hundreds of people over the last three months as they continue their crackdown against any dissenters and opposition to their group.
