Aleppo, Syria (10:15 A.M.) – As of 4 A.M. on Saturday morning, the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) have been full control of the Aleppo Artillery Base, marking a successful conclusion to the third phase of their large-scale offensive.

According to a military source in the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Armed Forces were unable to maintain their last line of defense after Jaysh Al-Fateh launched several VBIED (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) attacks at the southern perimeter of the base.

With the Artillery Base under their control, the jihadist rebels are now in position to lift the three week long siege on the eastern neighborhoods of the provincial capital.

In addition to seizing the base, the jihadist rebels have also captured a large cache of ammunition that was left by the Syrian Armed Forces at this imperative military installation on Saturday morning.

The Russian Air Force is now bombing the Aleppo Artillery Base in order to stop the jihadist rebels from fortifying their positions.

”Heavily fortified” and taken within 24 hours of the initial onslaught. Where are all the machine gun nests? The SAA tank and artillery superiority? The grads and uragans smerchs and TOS 1’s SAA got from russia? Where are the sniper teams? 5 years of VBIEDS and they still dont have kornet/milan/konkurs/toophan/malyutka teams set up ready for them. Where are the powerful tiger forces? Why are reinforcements being sent now, after it was captured, and not before? Where are the syrian and russian airstrikes bombarding them nonstop? You know you can also use Migs, they have rockets and gatlings in addition… Read more »

It’s not commanders or strategy, it’s sheer numbers. The terrorists through 9000+ at this offensive. The Syrian forces have less than half that in and around Aleppo. They kill what they can at a distance, and then fall back. Repeat. It’s a numbers game. SAA lost less than 250 to the estimated 1800 terrorists killed. Losing some territory is nothing compared to losing such forces. Now one has to consider how the terrorists managed to come up with 9000+. They bled every other region dry of reserves. That’s why the SAA has taken half of Daraa, is now in position… Read more »

Why do they always leave large caches of munitions behind to be used against them??
They should blow it all up if they have to retreat so it cannot be claimed by the terrorists 🙁

I don’t know whats up with the SAA man. ‘Heavily fortified’ lose it in less than 24hrs of the initial hard onslaught. w*f. A seasoned war veteran on twitter was saying how god awful rebel tactics are and how any competent army would have a turkey shoot with them out in the flat open terrain of the artillery base. I DONT understand …. you have SYAAF and RUAF bombing them, you should have fortified positions with kornet/milan/konkurs/malyutka/toophan ATGMS against VBIEDS after 5 years of war, you can use minefields, they have tank and howitzer and MLRS superiority, tons of iranian… Read more »

Lafarge had a cement factory in Syria until the french mandate ended… They make ‘just’ around 143M€ benefits with factories in 61 countries. If they’re still active in Syria, which is dubious, at best they were able to make around 2M€ benefit per year. If you want some huge french building company that may be interested into rebuilding Syria after the war, contact Vinci or Bouygues : they are direct competitors to Halliburton or Bechtel… Saddam’s Palace and Baghdad’s airport were Bouygues’ job. Blackwater doesn’t exist anymore, assets were sold 2 or 3 times since the name and bosses have… Read more »

5 years of war and this incompetent force didn’t learn that you have to destroy it when retreating ? Embarrassing, no wonder jihadis kicking their b**t.
I hope Russia would refrain from sending their troops, no point of dying when SAA on purpose leaving weapons for jihadis
Seems like they do this on purpose, bet some one in SAA got paid selling the ammo

What a horrible news! Rebels and their “5 vibed” are better than regular army including Russian air support? So “Only God can save Syria”? Problem is that he do not. People in the West know that god is a fairy tale. In this world only people can help each other so Syria needs good soldiers or Syria will be wiped from the maps.

Still no answer to VBIED. They work magic. It seems like only Zehrudin’s Revolutionary Guard in Der Er Zur are capable of dealing with them. Too bad. What was the point of the Aleppo siege? Are we better of now? And Turkey is still supporting terrorists.

Nope JoAnn, these are just (slow) road guided missiles, it’s exactly like the japanese kamikazes vs. US ships… SAA just lacks ATGMs in big numbers, and well, they proceeded by swarming, now, you know, taking an area is like taking a pawn when playing chess, you may take a pawn but the other may move his knight and put you chessmate… And to make this offensive allowed a SAA offensive in Kinsibba… One key thing is that if on the other side, SAA is able to secure the border because there is now less defences, shithadists will be in a… Read more »

I don’t understand why everyone thinks that this new southern supply line fantasy – even if realised – spells the end of the war, yet alone a major military setback, for Assad. The route these Islamic pirates intend to open up is going to be flanked entirely by SAA fire control and is far more vulnerable than the Castello route which had the Mallah Farms as a considerable buffer zone. The SAA have proved only medicore in defense, BUT near masters at counterattacking. How long do you think the Islamists can keep it open for unless they base their entire… Read more »

The strength of the Jihadis is they have lots of delusional psychopaths who believe in the afterlife, these crazy MARTYRS make the best soldiers. In a matched firefight, send an overkill force of them in a couple of VBIEDs, and they will likely get close enough to create openings in the enemy’s frontline. It may be hard to admit that the “rebel’s” strength is their sheer idiocy, but it explains why the US’Saudi?Israel NWO Front loves them so intensely. They are the best soldiers in the world, because when they die they go straight to heaven. That makes them unkillable.

Starting to believe that the sheer will, hunger and determination and youth of jaf and fatah halab is the only deciding factor. The list of advantages the saa have is never ending. Yet they lose, very quickly too. Like houthi tribesmen and the way they make saudi airstrikes seem useless

If they are in a battle, you won’t even see them but if they see you, you’re dead… When your mofos die, they die… Even if they take some ground, they have huge losses and the time 6000 new assholes were entering Syria every month is finished. The numb nuts in charge of base should be charged with high treason uunles already dead. He prevented adequate defenses being built, such as TRENCHES, ANTI TANK DITCHES, LAND MINES, and rigging objects with ied’s. In all objective honesty, the performance of those defending was catastrophically poor. They folded immediately last night; they withdrew and kept withdrawing from the onset. All of this started because front line at Hikma had no atgm’s. What a sad 6 days. I would build better defenses at the college using logic. You should be ashamed of yourselves and the brave men defending DZ.

Defenders folded on the very first assault, and were saved by RuAF, for a while. It was immediately clear that saa at base was not up to the task. That was of no surprise seein how jf advanced at will at the base. The fact those in charge did not erect adequate trenches, anti bied ditches, mine fields, rigging buildings and positions with explosives, and failing to evem attempt saving some of ammo or simply destroying it. This smells of treason. RuAF or SuAF could bomb the depot. Imagone how many saa men will want to anandon such horrifically incompetent… Read more »

Radioactive fallout is the problem.
They could still use thermobaric ammo, which can match that of small nuclear tactical weapons, without undesirable radioactive fallout.

Poor logic and corrupt, treasonous high command. There were no trenches or communication tunnels, or anti tank/svbied ditches, land mines, rigging objects/positions with ied’s. The utter failures of commanders to organize defenses on basix logic, and massive experience being devastated over last 5 years with same tactics. The defenders witjin base somply kept withdrawong from the onset of fighting. Now consider tjat militants with no airforce have defendet at Kabani with mo failure and Darayya for 6 years. Militants are simply using their brains and logic.
