BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:30 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched a surprise offensive in the Dara’a Governorate’s provincial capital yesterday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s positions at the Al-Manishiyah District.

Despite failing to advance yesterday, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launched another attack on the Al-Manishiyah District today, striking the Syrian Arab Army’s southern flank inside Dara’a City.

So far, no gains have been reported by the jihadist rebels, but intense clashes are ongoing with both parties trading rocket fire in Al-Manishiyah and Yadoudah.

Rebel activists claimed on Sunday that this offensive was launched in response to the Syrian Arab Army’s aggression in the Dara’a Governorate; however, no specific case was mentioned, despite the fact the province has been relatively quiet this year.
