BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels attempted to score a new advance near the Al-Ghaab Plain of northwestern Hama last night, a Syrian military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.
According to the source, the jihadist rebels of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) launched attacks on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses at Tal Malah, Zaleen, Mughayr, and Tal Sakhar.
However, the jihadist rebels were unable to penetrate the Syrian Army’s defenses, resulting in their eventual withdrawal before dawn on Sunday morning.
The military source told Al-Masdar that in addition to foiling the attacks, they also managed to destroy at least two technical vehicles that were used by the Turkestan Islamic Party at this front.
This latest assault by the jihadist rebels came on the same night they stormed the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the strategic Abu Dhuhour Airbase in southeast Idlib.
