Golan Heights, Syria (5:00 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham launched a new attack in the Al-Quneitra Governorate today, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses at Tuloul Al-Hamr and Humirat in the Golan Heights.

Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham and their allies began today’s assault by seizing a large part of Humirat’s eastern flank, forcing the Syrian Arab Army to pull back after fierce battle this morning.

Meanwhile, at Tuloul Al-Hamr, the jihadist rebels launched a fierce assault this afternoon that is targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s first line of defense inside this key village in the Golan Heights.

Clashes are still ongoing between both parties; however, preliminary reports from the Golan Heights indicate that the jihadist rebels are advancing at one axis.

I know we all are desperate to see the SAA defeat this blatant Israeli incursion, but it seems to me like the reports on this front are trying to minimize obvious setbacks.

It is understandable for Syria to (temporarily) sacrifice some ground in Hama/Golan in order to make much larger gains in Aleppo and Damascus.

Rather than reduce your credibility with “spin” why not praise the SAA for its strategic plan?
